I had life left in mine and keep it in K&N box in cabinet. A good idea is do not wait till the air filter is shot to get the K&N. But now I have the K&N and will inspect and wash it as needed. It even is ok to do your own oil changes and work as long as you get and KEEP the walmart recipt for the filter and oil or whatever you used in a file in house. Proper and GOOD paperwork is key and not to be taken lightly. That is not to say your totaly free to be lazy. Then Kia and or anyone is required to rewrite and issue FREE of charge a new book with the MANITORY updates as such. If it is not a good answer or you see something or think it fishy. ![]() AS only that which is in the book unless you get a good reason is required to uphold the warrenty. Ask why those things all need to be done regardless of the scare tack of voiding the warrenty. Now as for doing more then the book tells you like the dealer is trying to indicate. And like the other poster said table 1/A or table 1/B is open for debate. I as well am well versed in warrenty matters. But the manual says the plugs only have to be changed after 100,000 miles (or 10 years). For instance they claim the spark plugs have to be changed. Is my dealer just trying to scare me with the possible loss of warranty, or do I really need to do it? I would think that as long as I stick to the maintenance interval as listed in the owners manual, I should be fine. When I look at my Sorento Owners Manual, it has 2 maintenance intervals: "Normal" and "Severe". The question I have is: what is the required maintenance at 15,000 miles? KIA (and most other manufacturers) will scrutinize your maintenance records in case of any warranty claims, so the service has to be done properly and it has to be documented. I typically try to stay away from dealers as they seem to make a fortune out of it, so I'm thinking about going to an independent maintenance shop. Ok, I'm closing in on 15,000 miles so the Sorento needs some maintenance. ![]()
